Think Beatles I Want You or Oh Darling. Think the Dylan lyric “Now Ain’t the time for your tears’ for the sound of words rolling off your tongue – I like the cleverness of a goodnight and goodbye song but, you know, this ain’t no rock a bye baby – this is say goodbye baby – I try to write smart lyrics because that’s what I like from my favorite songs - but not have them get in the way of the vibe. If the listener wants to think on them great – if not I hope they lay back and enjoy the feel.

Brandon Comstock and Mike Quinn add some Pink Floydesque vox on the bridge. Inspired by past breakups that just dragged out because I didn’t want to say goodbye even though I knew it was done. This is a sad song but I had a great time writing and recording it. Funny how that goes.
